Terry Bradshaw Super Bowl Rings

Ranking top 10 NFL Quaterbacks with the most Super Bowl Rings

Thirty-five different quarterbacks have won Super Bowls Rings in the grand history of the NFL’s biggest game, but which QBs have won the most titles in league history? And who has the most Super Bowl Rings?

We’ve assembled the list, and some of the names may surprise you.

10. Bart Starr, Roger Staubach, Bob Griese: 2 Super Bowl Rings

Since there are 12 quarterbacks with at least two wins, we’re grouping the three oldest ones here. Bart Starr led the Green Bay Packers to Super Bowl wins in the first two Super Bowls ever in 1967 and 1968. Roger Staubach led the Dallas Cowboys to Super Bowl victories in 1972 and 1978. Bob Griese, meanwhile, led the Miami Dolphins to Super Bowl wins and winning their 2 super bowl rings in 1973 and 1974.

9. Jim Plunkett: 2 Super Bowl Wins

After being selected first overall by the New England Patriots in the 1971 NFL draft, Plunkett struggled mightily for his first seven years in the league. He had a win/loss record of 34-53 while splitting time between the Patriots and San Francisco 49ers.

However, it all changed at the age of 32 when he came off the bench because of injury to lead the Oakland Raiders to a Super Bowl win in 1981. Plunkett improbably won his second Super Bowl Ring at age 36 in 1984 for the Los Angeles Raiders.

8. John Elway: 2 Super Bowl Rings

Elway wasn’t a bust like Plunkett early in his career, but he could never win the big one. He made eight playoff appearances and three Super Bowl appearances, but had no rings to show for it.

However, that all ended at the age of 37 when Elway won back-to-back Super Bowls in 1998 and 1999 for the Denver Broncos. The Hall of Famer is now the President of Football Operations for the franchise.

7. Ben Roethlisberger: 2 Super Bowl Wins

Our first active player to hit this list is none other than Big Ben. However, this will be his last season, and barring a miracle he will not be adding another Super Bowl ring to his list. Nonetheless, he did manage to lead the Steelers to three Super Bowl appearances and two Super Bowl rings in his illustrious career, winning it all in 2006 and 2009.

6. Peyton Manning: 2 Super Bowl Rings

Probably not the first Manning you were expecting to see on this list. Older brother Peyton finished his career as one of the greatest to ever play the position. However, despite his incredible 186-79 career regular season record, he only went 14-13 in playoff games and 2-2 in Super Bowls. Nonetheless, he won for the Indianapolis Colts in 2007 and for the Denver Broncos in his final season in 2015.

5. Eli Manning: 2 Super Bowl Wins

The only player on this list who is not already a Hall of Famer or guaranteed to be a Hall of Famer is Peyton’s little brother. Unlike his more famous sibling, Eli had a mediocre regular season record of 117-117, but was fantastic in the playoffs at 8-4 and 2-0 in Super Bowls. Eli defeated Tom Brady and the Patriots twice in massive upsets to win it all in 2008 and 2012.

4. Troy Aikman: 3 Super Bowl Wins

The first player on this list with more than two wins is the man you see every Sunday when a big game is on FOX, Troy Aikman. He led Dallas to three Super Bowls in four years in a mini-dynasty. Aikman won for the Cowboys in 1993, 1994, and 1996 and took home a Super Bowl MVP trophy in his first win.

3. Terry Bradshaw: 4 Super Bowl Rings

That wacky personality you see every weekend on the FOX NFL Pregame Show was one of the winningest quarterbacks of all-time in his playing days. Bradshaw led the Pittsburgh Steelers to four Super Bowl Rings in 1975, 1976, 1979, and 1980, including two Super Bowl MVPs Rings.

2. Joe Montana: 4 Super Bowl Wins

The only other quarterback, aside from Terry Bradshaw and Troy Aikman, with an undefeated record in Super Bowls with at least three appearances is Joe Montana. At 4-0, Montana led the San Francisco 49ers to Super Bowl wins in 1982, 1985, 1989, and 1990. He took home three Super Bowl MVP honors and is the all-time leader in career passer rating in Super Bowls at 127.8.

1. Tom Brady: 7 Super Bowl Wins

The true G.O.A.T., Tom Brady is in another stratosphere with nearly twice as many Super Bowl rings as anyone else on our list. Brady won an amazing six Super Bowls in New England in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2015, 2017, and 2019. He then shocked the world and became the oldest QB to win a Super Bowl Ring when he won last season with Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

If not for Eli Manning and Nick Foles, he could be closing in on Bill Russell from the NBA with 10 rings! Most players Brady’s age are retired and enjoying their time either away from the game or in the broadcasting booth. Instead, Brady is still out here leading his teams to Super Bowls, and do not be surprised if he adds one or two more wins to this list before all is said and done.
