John Elway : Denver Broncos Super Bowl XXXII Championship

After 3 Super Bowl losses, QB John Elway at last won a Super Bowl title with the 1997 Denver Broncos. The Broncos finished second in the AFC West with a 12-4 record behind the 13-3 Chiefs. During the regular season, Denver led the NFL in scoring offense with 29.5 points per game. Elway, who threw for 3,635 yards and 27 TDs, had two Hall of Fame playmakers: running back Terrell Davis, who rushed for 1,750 yards and 15 touchdowns; and tight end Shannon Sharpe, who had 1,107 yards receiving. Other weapons for Elway included the wide receiving corps of Rod Smith (1,180 yards receiving, 12 TDs) and Ed McCaffrey (eight TDs). The Broncos defeated the Steelers, 24-21 to win the AFC Championship. In Super Bowl XXXII, Elway’s helicopter run became a game-defining moment, leading to a go-ahead TD and ultimately a 31-24 win over the Packers.
